The paintings shown in this website fall into two categories: landscape and still life. Traditional oil painting techniques and subject matter underpin these paintings but recent work reveals a new approach to both landscape and still life.

Landscape has become Gridscape, combining traditional landscape painting overlaid by a grid structured where a selection of squares are then painted into the work. The resulting painting offers both traditional and contemporary styles both fighting for attention by the viewer.

Still life, while retaining static observations of composition, form, colour, light and mood, has been simplified, offering a new representation of an old theme.
